Poster Design

The next task was to create a poster in the software called Adobe Illustrator CS4.

The posters were going to be about our chosen research topics, but the whole class decided it would be better for the posters to be about young people being irresponsible in cars in general.

It will need to be in CMYK colour mode as they will be printed. We had a restriction on the amount of colours we could use, which was 5.

Before we actually started to design the poster, the class had to think of a slogan. The last two ideas that were left was "It's not a game" and "You're dead!". So we thought it would be good to fuse both of them together to make the slogan "It's not a game, you're dead!".

When I was designing the poster I placed the words "It's not a game" at the top of the page, with some images of game consoles around the text. In the middle I placed a image of a wrecked car. At the bottom of the page I placed the words "You're dead!", with an image of a tombstone in between the words "you're" and "dead!". In the footer of the poster , it was required to place the logos of Sussex Downs College, East Sussex Fire Rescue Service, Police Service, Ambulance Service, Sussex Road Safety Partnership and the URL of the website http://drivetime.sussexdowns.ac.uk/

Here is my poster design:
